Muslim Girls Fence x Sabba Khan: A Hopeful Zine Workshop
Hope is grounded in memory and in these times we could all do with holding on to hope. But what does hope look like? Sabba Khan unravels stories of hope in this workshop, and captures them into a single piece of paper, that itself transforms into a little zine. The aim is to end the workshop with our own personal Hopeful Zine that we can hold onto and remind ourselves of in moments of despair. Sabba Khan is an architectural designer & graphic novelist. Her work is an exploration of first world city life as a second generation Azad Kashmiri Muslim migrant. She explores themes of belonging, memory and identity. Using a hybrid of text and visual commentary, she sits at the intersection of visual storytelling, poetry, and spatial form. The Muslims Girls Fence Online Project is a series of online physical fitness and creative sessions with fencing coaches and artists, in partnership with British Fencing. Schools4Change: Our Mission
Welcome to Schools4Change. We are a development charity based in East London, and our aim is to improve the education standard of countries across the world, and we are starting with Pakistan. We have just begun our flagship project. In early 2016, we partnered with Manzil School in Karachi, Pakistan, and since then we've implemented an IGCSE curriculum, employed highly-qualified teachers and ensured that all students have sufficient learning equipment; from pens and paper to keyboards and mice. All of this happened in such a short space of time because of donations that we received from the general public through hosting events. From game nights to matchmaking, Schools4Change is passionate about hosting fun events for those who donate to us.
