GoldDust is Goldsmiths, University of London's first and only digital-only magazine. With its minimalist design and content-focused issue pages, it showcases some of the best creative work produced by Goldsmiths students and alumni. Since its conception I have curated and maintained the website, identifying end user needs for each release and building a responsive, coherent user experience via wire-framing and diagrams. I have trained staff on design consistency and conceptualised ideas to increase traffic and engagement by 150% over a one-year period within the first 5 years of its existence.

The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is central to academia at Goldsmiths, University of London. It is where lectures are stored, and where assignments take place. From 2018 until mid-2019, I worked on the transformational upgrade of the VLE to bring it up to speed with its competitors with style. I assisted in research analysis and hosting focus groups with current students to make the user journey more intuitive and enjoyable, and worked with departments and students after the upgrade to assist with queries regarding the new interface. Furthermore, I worked with colleagues in establishing a new Teaching and Learning platform, providing academic staff a place to discuss improvements to academic experiences.

I Can Be She is a pioneering project which seeks to empower Muslim women and change the ways in which society perceives them. The redesign of the I Can Be She website formed a part of the Maslaha site overhaul between 2018 to 2019, for which I was approached. The main focus for I Can Be She was to bring the project's visual identity into the modern era, whilst still unifying it with Maslaha's new branding guidelines for a smooth user journey.

Caring For Your Heart works in partnership with Birmingham East and North Primary Care Trust and Health Launchpad at the Young Foundation, and brings together medical and Islamic advice to help you improve your lifestyle and strengthen your heart. The designing of the new site for Caring For Your Heart was a part of the Maslaha website re-design between 2018 to 2019, for which I was approached. The main focus for CFYH was to bring the project's visual identity into the modern era, whilst still unifying it with Maslaha's new branding guidelines for a smooth user journey.

Maslaha

Maslaha is a non-profit organisation which challenges conditions that create inequalities for Muslim communities in education, gender, criminal justice, and health. From 2018 to 2019, I re-designed the main Maslaha website, updating it to modern design standards. Material design was implemented via SVG files and the organisation was given a fresh, unified look that appeals to its target audience. I ensured the correct SEO terminology was used within project pages to boost search engine visibility, and improved the user experience by placing an emphasis on interactive content, using datasets and back-end development to ensure consistency across the site.

Schools4Change

2016 - 2018

Schools4Change is a London-based capacity-building charity, running educational projects in India and Pakistan. I improved the user interface on the site by working with the wider Communications team on a visual style, and then implementing that style into the site, thus ensuring consistency across all Schools4Change platforms and media. I used A/B testing when deciding on a project-focused system whereby regular donors were encouraged to check for project updates regularly on the site.
